Learning Scratch!

Today Mrs Morris’s husband, Nate, came in to investigate Scratch with six lucky students in 2KM and 2KJ.

Mr Morris is a teacher at Kardinia International College and he is on holidays already. Mr Morris teaches Scratch to his year seven students.

Scratch is a programming language that lets you create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music and art.

Will, Kayla, Liam, Mia, Jordi and Harry learnt how to make sprites (objects) move, change colour, produce sounds, produce speech and be controllable with the mouse and arrow keys.

Here are some of the students’ creations…

Scratch is a free program for anyone to use. If you want to download it, just visit the Scratch website and click on download. There is a great support page on the website to teach you all about Scratch. Click here to find the Scratch cards that 2KM and 2KJ students used to try out their skills.
