Skyping a Dinosaur Expert

This morning 2KM and 2KJ were very lucky to skype with Jenni from the National Dinosaur Museum (NDM) in Canberra!

We thought of some very interesting dinosaur questions and Jenni answered them for us on Skype. We learnt so much and we are so grateful that Jenni gave up time in her busy schedule to help us all learn more about dinosaurs!

Tip: right click on each image and select “open in new tab” to make them larger.

Check out the summary Miss Jordan typed while the students spoke with Jenni.

Tip: click on full screen in the bottom right hand corner to see it larger.

What did you learn from Jenni?

What else would you like to ask a dinosaur expert?

What other sort of expert would you like to skype with?

  1. Dear 2KM and 2JK,

How lucky are you all were to be able to skype with Jeni the dinosaur expert. 🙂

I really loved reading the wonderful questions you asked her.

Now, if I had the chance to ask Jeni a question I would love to ask her if she could be a dinosaur what dinosaur would she like to be.

    Great work everyone.
    From your blogging pal,
    AA.

    • Dear AA,

Thank you for your comment on the 2KM and 2KJ blog.

That is a really great question you wanted to ask Jenni. I was so excited that we skyped with Jenni so I made a post on my own blog.

      Lots Of Love,
      Haille.

Flynn I really liked your question which you asked me.
So to answer your question if I could pick out to be a dinosaur I would like to be a Brachisaurus.

        • @AA

Thank you for learing a comment for me and hallie.

          You chose a great dinosaur!

          What is our favorite dinosaur?

My favorite dinosaurs are the plant-eaters.

          Love from,
          Flynn in 2KJ.

  2. Dear 2KM and 2JK,

How awesome that you got to skype with Jeni.
I remember skyping with Jeni last year and it was so much fun and I learned a lot from her too.

When I asked Jeni a dinosaur question I think I asked Jeni if dinosaurs lived in caves.

The one expert I would love to skpe with is with Mrs Yollis.

    Happy blogging everyone.
    From BB.

  3. Dear 2KM and 2KJ,

What a fantastic opportunity you had! I was reading through your questions and Jenni’s answers and they were very fascinating. You all asked great questions!

If I were to Skype an expert, I think I’d like to Skype an astronaut, or someone who works in the aeronautical field. I’m a big fan of space and I think it would be brilliant to get to talk to someone who works in that field.

    Keep up the great work!

    Your friend,
    Stef Galvin

Have you seen a spac ship or a rocert ship?

Hope to hear from you soon. 😆

Best wishes love from your blogging mate,
      Keira from 2KJ. 😆

      • Dear Keira,

My apologies for such a late reply!

I love your reply. You’re question to Jenni was fantastic, and it sounds like you got a very special answer.

I have been on Skype before. I use it to talk to my younger cousins who live in country Victoria, and I don’t get to see them very often.

I haven’t been to space… but I would LOVE to go. I have seen pieces of spaceships and rockets when I visited Washington D.C. (in America) a few years ago. I went to a brilliant museum called the National Air and Space Museum and they have lots of artefacts from space missions and the history of flight. I think it’s my favourite museum in the world!

        Keep up the great questions!

        All the best,
        Stef

  4. Hello 2KM and 2KJ.

Skype can certainly make you feel as though you are there with the person you’re interviewing. Your questions were wonderful and would have shown Jenni how interested you are.

I’ve visited the National Dinosaur Museum in Canberra. It’s a fascinating place featuring dinosaurs known to have been in Australia. I wandered around looking at the displays. From where I live, it’s a three hour drive to the museum so I am much closer than you.

If any of you visit Canberra and the museum, next door is another wonderful tourist place. It’s called Cockington Green. It’s a beautiful garden made up as a model English village.

    Keep blogging 2KM and 2KJ.

      • Hello Kayla,

Tank you for replying to my comment.

Having been a dinosaur fan since I was your age, I found the National Dinosaur Museum to be very interesting. I have some fossils in my collection but the only thing I have from a dinosaur is a coprolite (fossilised dinosaur droppings).

Here is a link to a photo of it if you are allowed to see it…

It seems it’s easy to find these than dinosaur bones.

Cockington Green is a wonderful place. I have a link to one of my photos taken there…

We both would like to be a palaeontologist! But we don’t know what to do.

  9. @ 2KM and 2KJ,

Awesome post, Mrs Morris. I felt like I was there.

It would of been lots of fun to skype with Jenni the dinosaur expert but I didn’t get to because I was away. 🙁

I would like to skype with a horse expert that knows everything about horses. I am really interested in horses and I would like to find out more about the different breeds.

What was your favourite thing about skyping with Jenni? Did you learn something really interesting?

    Best wishes,
    Ava 😛

What did you do at your house when you were away? Were you sick?

I don’t know who else I want to Skype with.

My favourite thing about Skyping with Jenni is that she gave 2KM and 2KJ a lot of information.

      Best Wishes,

  11. Hi 2KM and 2KJ,

Wow, what a fantastic opportunity you all had. Skyping with Jenni sounds like it was great fun. I thought the questions you asked were fantastic, isn’t it great when you get to ask an expert something you’ve always wanted to know. I learnt lots from reading your questions and Jenni’s answers.
My class got to skype with my brother earlier this year, even though he’s related to me, he was the expert for the project we were doing about adapting to live in different places. He is travelling around the world on his bike and at that time was cycling through the desert in Mongolia.
Thanks for sharing your Q+A session with Jenni. Curiosity is a great thing.
    Miss. Leakey
