  13. Hi 2KM and 2KJ,

    Great post.

I do not have a favourite fairy tale. (Fiction book.) Last year when I was in 1/2W we made gingerbread men. They were yum!

I think book week is very fun because you get to listen to lots of fiction books and some are very interesting and some are just fine.

What I thought of the Two Peas in a Pod was 8/10.

The best book that I chose was ‘Two Peas in a Pod’ because it was more interesting and fun to listen to. It is about a girl and a boy and one moves away.

I have lots of people in my family, but I can’t count them all.

I have two dogs, two cats and a horse.

What book are you reading now and what is about?

    From,
    Jordi

    • @ Jordi,

      Great comment.

Last year it was lots of fun making ginger bread men.

I agree book week is a lot of fun.

My two favourite books that we read are ‘My Uncles Donkey’ and ‘Two Peas in a Pod.’

My book that I’m reading at the moment is Morgan the Midnight Fairy. It is about two girls called Rachel and Kirsty. They save the fairy’s special magic Because Jack Frost stole the magic bags and give them to the silly goblins. Eventualy Rachel and Kirsty get the bags back. It’s an interesting book. I borrowed it from the Library.

      Great comment again.

      Talk to you soon,
      Ava 🙄

  14. @ 2KM and 2KJ,

    Great post Mrs Morris.

I did like two peas in a pod but I like exciting things and mystery stories.

Did anyone like Two Peas In a Pod and why, or if not still tell me why.

It was about two people that were similar but one day one of them moved to the beach
    and they flew their kites.

    Great post again Mrs Morris.

    Happy reading,
    Amelie (2KM)

    • Dear Amelie,
I liked Two Peas In a Pod because the first part was funny. When it said Violet was going to the moon I thought Violet was going to the moon. I think its 9/10 because I really liked it and it was funny and good. What part of the book did you like?
      From Dayna (2MK)

  15. Dear 2KM amd 2KJ,

I love the post Mrs Morris.

Book week has been a lot of fun even though we just started it today. It’s great listening to a story every hour.

Two Peas in a pod was a great book because it was really exciting.

There were two best friends a girl called Violet and a boy called Marven. Violet left to somewhere far away from Marven. Violet said she moved to the moon but she actually moved somewhere near the beach.

I don’t have a favourite book I like lots of different ones.

    Great post again.

    Bye for now,

My favourite book this year, is “Family Forest” – because I love the way it presents the modern family.

Enjoy the rest of book week, Grade 2s!

  24. @ 2Km and 2KJ,`

I liked both books the same, I give them 7/10 beacause they weren’t as exciting as I thought they would be.

I think Two Peas in a Pod was more of a story then the family forest, because in family forest it just told us the names of the people in the boys family and told us how some families are big and some families are small.

    from your friend,
    Mia

  25. @ Stef,

Thank you for your comment. We always like to hear from you.

In my family I have my mum, dad and my little brother and me.

  27. Hi 2KM and 2KJ,
I think it is great that you are reading the Picture Book nominations this year. Our school celebrated book week last week as we started swimming lessons on Monday.

We have now read all of the books and have had some really good discussions about what we liked and disliked about each of them. One thing we did agree on however was that all the authors deserve praise for the terrific effort they put into their stories and ilustrations. In an interview we watched between Nicki Greenberg (HAMLET) and Shaun Tan, she mentioned that she had been working on her book for 6 years. That is certainly a labour of love.

My favourite book this year was Mirror. I won’t give anything away as I’m sure your teachers will share it with you.

My all time favourite picture book is ‘Felix and Alexander’ by Terry Denton. I love its message of friendship and how he uses colour throughout the book to capture the mood of the story. Hopefully Mrs Morris will be able to read it too you in the future.

    Be good.
    Mr Phipps

    • Dear Mr Phipps,

I have not heard of the book ‘Felix and Alexander’ for a long time. It reminds me of when I was a child. It is a great story and its message about friendship is lovely. I love the faces on the buildings and the small details through out the book.

Thank you for reminding me of that story. I am going to see if it is on my book shelf. If not I may get it at the library.

      From Mrs Milton 2MK

    • @ Mr Phipps,

Thank you for leaving a comment on the blog, it’s great .

  28. @ 2KM and 2KJ,

WOW! There are so many comments! 😆

I love book week! I love book week because you can listen to people read, when you follow with your eyes you can learn new words, you can get better at spelling and you can look at new books that you have never seen because then it might be very intresting .

My favourite thing about Family Forest is that it is telling you that some people have big families have some of the people little families.

My favourite book was Family Forest. My review About Family Forest is 6-10. I can’t tell you my review about two peas in a pod because I didn’t get to listen to the teacher read it, because I was leaving a blog comment.

I’m not sure what my favourite book is because there are so many in the world and all of them are great.

    I love the post again.

    Best Wishes,
    Alana

I think this is a great blog.
As part of book week, we had stop and read, which means another teacher from another class will come and read to you. The teacher we had read us Two Peas in a Pod.I personally think that it is a great book. Also for book week, we swapped classes and a teacher would read us a book and we would do an activity. So one of the teachers read us Family Forest. I really like how it is kind of explained with meanings of words. Please have a look at our blog:
