Last month Ebony was the 2KJ winner of our May Is Family Blogging Month competition. Part of her prize was that she won a guest post on our blog. Here it is!
Hi everyone my name is Ebony, and I was lucky enough to have won the ‘May is Family Blogging Month’ challenge for 2KJ. I was so excited to win! I love writing and colouring in, so I have just finished decorating thank you cards to all my family and friends that helped me win by leaving blog comments.
Today I want to tell you about the holiday I had in Queensland last year. We flew up with our family friends (Bradley from 2KM and his family) and it was the best holiday ever. I cannot wait to go back!
We went to the theme parks and I loved Dreamworld the most because I loved going on all the rides. My favourite ride was the Nickelodeon Rollercoaster. I went on it three times with my mum and dad and I screamed every time because it was so fast.

The animals at Australia Zoo were amazing, watching the crocodile show was great and I even got to feed an elephant.

- Here I am feeding the elephant some fruit and vegetables.
The dolphin show at Sea World was great even though it was raining. I wish I could have patted a dolphin but I did touch a baby stingray. It felt smooth but all slippery and slimy!

When we stayed at the resort we swam in the pools. I love swimming. We swam at the beach too and my dad buried our legs in the sand!

We go camping in our caravan all the time but Mum and Dad said our next big family holiday will be to Fiji. I’ve only seen pictures of Fiji but I cannot wait to go!

What a fantastic post! It sounds as though you had a wonderful holiday with your family and Bradley’s family too!
You looked as though you tried lots of different things and had a lot of fun doing it too!
I have been to Queensland. I’ve been three times! Once with my mum when I was 20, once with Charlotte’s dad Arran when I was 21 and with Charlotte, Arran and I before Oliver was born. We went to all the theme parks and had a wonderful time! They are so much fun aren’t they?
In fact, Charlotte’s tiger Ben, who is in your class today hanging out with Leo your class mascot, comes from Dreamworld! Ben used to be white, but he’s so well loved, he’s more grey now!
Fiji sounds wonderful! I’d love to go there too. I think it might be a bit warmer there than it is in Leopold today!!! The place I most would like to go would be to take our family to Disneyland one day…maybe we could say Hi to Mrs Yollis when we do?! Do you think you’d like to go to Disneyland Eb?

I have never been to Australia, so I’ve never been to Queensland. One day I hope to go. The photo of you feeding the elephant was fantastic! Were you scared? What did the trunk feel like?
We have theme parks called Sea World here in America. In fact, I visited the one in San Diego. The dolphins were so clever! I also enjoyed the big orca show.

I have never even been to Australia, let alone Queensland! I live in England and although it is the middle of summer, today is COLD, WET and GREY! I think I would like to live somewhere hot…

Cant wait to the long weekend !!! Im going to see my friend, he lives just out of Stawell on a farm …. They have sheep for wool and fat lambs, along with growing some crops…Its very close to the Grampians so we will go there for a look aswell !!! It will me 3 hours to drive there but I enjoy the drive as the scenery is amazing !!!

I would like to thank all the teachers, students, friends and family for their comments. It was very exicting to see Eb♥ny’s face when I came home from work and see showed me that she had won.
At Dreamworld I liked the Giant Drop and the Claw. We had a very lovely holiday with some great friends, didn’t we?
This weekend when I take you camping in the bush with Pa and his boat. It might be a bit cold but, we will have a big fire to keep us warm.

We really liked your post about your family holiday in Queensland. In our grade eighteen people out of twenty two have been on a holiday to Queensland. Our teacher has also been to Queensland. Some of our favourite activities in Queensland are: going to Sea World, Movie World, Dream World, Wet and Wild, the beaches, swimming in the pools, visiting friends and family, canoeing, seeing the Daintree River and watching crocodiles and flying on the aeroplane up there!
We have lots of favourite holidays: Singapore, Fiji (if you go there it is very hot and you can get braiding in your hair), Hollywood, Ocean Grove, NSW, England, India, Port Douglas, Noosa and even New Zealand. We have travelled a lot in our grade.
We would love to travel all over the world, here our some of our answers: Thailand, Greenland, America, China, Japan, Bali and Hollywood.
